Temporary Works Training Courses – Coordinator and Supervisor

Remote delivery of this CITB course is now possible under CITB’s “Appendix Q – Emergency Training Provision Scheme Rules”, which have been raised in response to the current Coronavirus Pandemic, allowing you to get your SSSTS qualification by doing an online course.

Our Temporary Works online courses are now rolled out using Zoom or similar software options to achieve virtual classroom environments.

Course Description – Temporary Works Coordinator

This course will cover all you need to know to be certified as a CITB – Temporary Works Coordinator.

This is a 2 day training course.

Course Details

• The importance of the 4 C’s: communications, cooperation, coordination and competency in managing temporary works as a Temporary Works coordinator.
• Describe the operator’s legal duties regarding the use of quick hitches.
• Understanding the need for, and the duties of, a temporary works coordinator.
• Understanding the roles of others.
• Understanding BS5975, the code of Best Practice for Temporary Structures on Building Sites.
• Statutory aspects of temporary works.
• Risk assessments and method statements.
• Management of the temporary works process.

Course Description – Temporary Works Supervisor

This is a 1 day training course.

Course Details

• understand the need for and duties of a Temporary Works Supervisor.
• understand the role of others.
• have a detailed knowledge and understanding of BS5975 in respect of this role.

This course is not a temporary works awareness course. It is only concerned with the process of the supervision of temporary works, commonly expressed through the role of the Temporary Works Supervisor.

Teaching

This course shall examine case studies, classroom discussions, group work and finally either individual or group presentations.

CITB Site Safety Plus certificate is valid for 5 years.
