Course Description

This A25 Mobile Elevating Platforms Scissor training course is for Dumper Operators who want to take a CPCS test to gain their Red Trained Operator Card.

  • The purpose of the principle components, the basic construction and also the controls and terminology
  • Conform with manufacturers requirements as per the operators handbook. Together with other types of information sources and relevant regulations and legislation.
  • Pre-start checks.
  • Check the emergency lowering functions.
  • Configure and set plant equipment for site travel.
  • Travel over inclines on level surfaces.
  • Explain travel procedures and precautions over rough terrain and inclines.
  • Manoeuvre in confined spaces.
  • Configure and set plant for accessing duties.
  • Position the platform to access a work position.
  • Explain actions required for hazards and also underground and overhead services.
  • Access working points up to full operating height.
  • Travel with a raised platform (where applicable) and employ extension units.
  • Shut down and securing procedures.
  • Loading and unloading procedures for the transporting of the machine.

In addition, you will need to undertake a Health & Safety test within 2 years.

Finally, the next step is to gain a CPCS blue competence card and an NVQ Level 2.
