Course Description

This A09 Forward Tipping Dumper training course is for Dumper Operators who want to take a CPCS test to gain their Red Trained Operator Card.

A09 Forward Tipping Dumper Training Course Details

• Roles and responsibilities.
• Dumper controls and terminology.
• Regulations and legislation.
• Undertake all pre-use inspection checks.
• Operating over rough, undulating ground, steep inclines and level surfaces – loaded and unloaded.
• Actions required for hazards, underground and overhead services.
• Position to receive loads.
• Complying with loading procedures.
• Load integrity and security.
• Transfer and discharge loads into trenches and over edges.
• Manoeuvre in confined spaces.
• Shut down procedures.

Testing and Further Courses

Theory Test – a verbal test with one to one questions with the tester.

Practical Test – a test including:-

• Pre-start and running checks.
• Travel in a loaded and unloaded state.
• Position the dumper for loading.
• Receive a load.
• Deposit the load into the edge of an excavation.
• Form a stockpile.
• Clean out the skip fully.
• Park the Dumper.
• Carry out the shutdown and securing procedures.

In addition, you will need to undertake a Health & Safety test within 2 years.
Next step – CPCS blue competence card and NVQ Level 2.

Requirements:

A good level of written and spoken English is required to successfully complete this course. If you have any concerns regarding this please contact our office and we discuss available options (e.g. hiring a translator at an additional cost).

What is awarded after completion of the course?:

Once the course has been completed candidates will be eligible to receive a CPCS Red Trained Operator Card.
