SWQR Important Changes
In October 2021, SWQR adjusted their terms so that all candidates looking to renew their Street Works Qualification must now do so within 3 months of their card expiring.
Previously, cardholders had a 5-year grace period to renew their cards after they became invalid. Now that this has been significantly reduced, we’re reminding our clients to book their NRSWA Refresher Course before their card expires.
The SWQR card obtained from an NRSWA qualification lasts for 5 years. In order for candidates to renew this qualification, they must attend a 2-day refresher course. If your card has been invalid for more than 3 months, you cannot renew it and will instead need to undertake a completely new assessment.
New Roads and Streetworks Act Courses
At CISTC, we offer 3 types of NRSWA courses. These will provide you with the mechanism for recognising competence in excavation and reinstatement in the highway.
These courses are:
| Operative or Supervisor | This is a 5-day course for initial training, which is perfect for Operators with little to no experience. | £725 +VAT |
| Re-Assessment | This 2-day refresher course is a necessity for any employee who has previously completed the NRSWA Supervisor and wants to keep their qualification. | £275 +VAT |
| 2/10 – Signing, Lighting and Guarding | This 1-day course has been designed for Operatives and Supervisors who have to erect or monitor the erection of signing, lighting and guarding for work on the roadways and highways. | £175 +VAT |
