CISTC join the Armed Forces Covenant

Today, CISTC and Natta Building Company held a joint signing ceremony to join the Armed Forces Covenant.

Signing the Armed Forces Covenant represents our pledge and demonstrates our support to respect the Armed Forces Community. We recognise the value serving personnel, both regular and reservists, veterans, and military families contribute to our business and our country.

For us, this can relate to discounted construction training courses and equal opportunities with employment. We will also support participating organisations with free mentoring, advice, and training through our Construction Training Group – Surrey Training Group.

For more information on our pledges please visit our Equal Opportunities page in our About section.

Adhering to government guidelines, we were joined by 20 guests to witness the signing followed by ‘Afternoon Tea’. Among those in attendance was the HM Lord-Lieutenant of Surrey, Michael More-Molyneux as well as The Mayor of Waverley, Cllrs John Robini, Colonel Patrick Crowley DL Chief Executive and Andrew Gibbs from the South East Reserve Forces’ and Cadets’ Association and Canon Peter Bruinvels.

Paddy Baines MBE, commented: “Having recently retired from the Army after 40 years of service, I can honestly say that the Natta Group recognises and values the skills and experience that Military personnel can bring to the Construction Industry. We already employ a number of ex-military personnel and we are always looking for more. By signing the Armed Forces Covenant today, Natta is formalising our commitment to support Service personnel and their spouses in their transition to civilian life, and of course those members of the Reserve Forces who continue to serve our country.”

About the Armed Forces Covenant

The Armed Forces Covenant is the nation’s promise to those who serve or have served in the armed forces that they will be treated with fairness and respect.

It ensures that past and present members of the community have the same access to services as any other citizen. This applies to several aspects including education, housing, healthcare and financial assistance.

About the South East Reserve Forces’ and Cadets’ Association

The South East Reserve Forces’ and Cadets’ Association (SERFCA) is one of the 13 RFCAs in the UK. It gives support to the Reserve Forces and Cadets in the Counties of Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Hampshire, the Isle of Wight, Kent, Oxfordshire, Surrey, East and West Sussex.

SERFCA has close links to the local community and we are thrilled to have SERFCA administer this event for CISTC.
