Course Description

This CPCS A61 Appointed Person training course is for operators who want to take a CPCS test to obtain their Red Trained Operator Card.

• Introduction and explanation of the CPCS qualification.
• Legislation controlling crane operations.
• BS7121/LOLER Regulations.
• Crane Appreciation.
• Drawing Workshops.
• Crane Stability Accessories.
• Question Papers.
• Planned Lifting Operations.
• Risk Assessments and Method Statements.
• Crane Specifications.
• Planning a Lift scenario.

In addition,  you will need to undertake a Health & Safety test within 2 years.

Next step

– CPCS blue competence card and NVQ Level 5.

Requirements:

A good level of written and spoken English is required to successfully complete this course. If you have any concerns regarding this please contact our office and we discuss available options (e.g. hiring a translator at an additional cost).

What is awarded after completion of the course?:

Once the course has been completed candidates will be eligible to receive a CPCS Red Trained Operator Card.
