Please see below the different CPCS training courses that we offer at CISTC.
We have training videos available on some of these courses which outline some of the procedures that take place during the course. As a centre, most of our training takes place on site, but we are able to come to your own premises if requested.
Who are these Courses recognised by:
They are accredited CPCS courses which are widely recognised within the construction industry. Any CPCS course enables plant operators to understand the expected standards of operating plant and follow the relevant regulations.
Delegates must have achieved the Health, Safety and Environment Test, taken within 2 years of the practical test date. A good level of written and spoken English is required to successfully complete any course. If you have concerns regarding this contact us and we can discuss available options (e.g. hiring a translator).
How are the Courses delivered?:
The delivery of the practical depends on the candidate, if there are certain areas the candidate struggles on, the trainer will devote more time to these areas.
How are the Courses assessed?:
There are two tests which delegates need to pass: the theory and the practical. The theory consists of a one to one discussion where the tester will ask the candidate questions to ensure they have a good understanding. The practical is assessed by observing the candidate and marking mistakes where appropriate.
What is awarded after completion of the course?:
After the course delegates will received a red “trained operator” card. Once this has been received and delegates have acquired the relevant experience / evidence they can go on to achieving blue “competent operator” card.
When does the qualification expire?:
The red card is valid for 2 years, within this time period delegates should train for their blue card / NVQ.
How to renew the qualification?:
Work towards the blue “competent operator” card which is valid for 5 years.
